Right now, we are awaiting a few permits and finalizing some details. I guess that means it's time for me to get down and dirty and start the hard part of our new venture. I need to get out there, meet some new people, see some new places and try some new beers. I know. You can send your sympathy cards to the tap room care of Alan.
My first little adventure will be to check out the Illinois Suburban Brewers Summit that's going on this Saturday in Plainfield. It's being held at Nevin's Brewing Co. and is co-hosted by Ale to the Burbs.
I've already plunked-down my $25 and I can't wait to check out Nevin's for the first time! It looks like a bunch of breweries from Illinois will be represented and there will be 15-4 oz. tasters awaiting my arrival.
I'm also stoked to see sponsorship from The Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn. I had a chance meeting with their owner, Dave, a while back at Solemn Oath's taproom (yeah, I know...they spell it wrong). It was great to talk with someone going through a similar startup and I love hearing how well it's gone for him.
If you want to check it out, go to http://isbs.brownpapertickets.com. If you decide to go, let me know. Maybe we can talk beer there. I think I'm flying solo this time around.
Cheers!
Alan
