Alan was a huge baseball fan when he was growing up and one of his all-time favorite players was HOF-er Tony Gwynn of the San Diego Padres. Every once in a while, Alan does something selfish like...throwing a birthday party for Tony Gwynn, who passed away in 2014.
AleSmith Brewing is the perfect partner for this party, after partnering with Tony on a San Diego Pale Ale called .394. The beer is named .394 to commemorate Tony's batting average in the strike-shortened 1994 season. In our opinion, he would have hit .400. AleSmith sends a portion on the proceeds of .394 to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation which works to privde educational resources to the underserved.
Join us on Saturday, May 13th, for our first-ever Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby! Step up to the plate and knock one out of the park...or, backyard....for prizes and glory.
We'll have some great AleSmith beers on tap as well, including:
- .394 San Diego Pale Ale
- Anvil ESB (#HeritageHandle)
- Nibs & Beans Speedway Stout
- Lil Devil Belgian Pale
- $5 IPA Cans
Plus, it's the return of Alice's Corner Bolivian Cuisine Catering. Alicia's empanadas are homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. She usually brings something special along for dessert too. Stop in before she runs out.
