Greetings and wilkommen to another edition of our Wine Wednesday tasting series!
This week, we’re tasting through four delicious wines from Austria. If you think Austrian wines will just be like German wines, you’re großly mistaken, Friend 😄.
As always, you won’t need a ticket, and a curated four-wine tasting is just $5. We’ll also have full pours available of these wines and our current wine list.
Our Austrian Wine Selection:
Stadt Krems Ried Grillenparz Riesling: This dry Riesling, from a nearly 600 y/o winery, hits you with amazing dry peach and white flower notes.
Landhaus Mayer Grüner Veltliner: Grüner has become one of our wine guy’s favorite styles to nerd-out over. The style lends itself to grilled meats and grilled veggies. It comes to the picnic table with bright grapefruit and white pepper notes with a lively acidity.
Szigeti Grüner Veltliner Brut Sket: Let’s see, how can we improver Grüner Veltliner? Why not make it sparkling? Erstaunlich!
Mayer Am Pfarrplatz Pinot Noir: Wether you call it Blauburgunder, Spätburgunder or Pinot Noir, it’s delicous. This Austrian version gives you all of the raspberry and cherry notes that you’d expect with a little cola and tobacco.
