Punk Rock for Pear Kids Cask Tapping

We’ve partnered with those SOBs down in Naperville to bring you a special, one-night-only beer: Punk Rock for Rich Kids cask-conditioned on pears from our Plank Road Tap Room orchard.

This single hop Belgo-American Pale Ale already brings fruity Belgian esters and caramelly goodness to the table. Our pears will add and enhance those profiles while adding some sweet, juicy highlights to the mix.

In addition, we’ll be tapping White Van Witbier and Hunted by Vikings Session IPA.

Meanwhile, Chuck’s Wood-Fired Pizza will be out back serving up the ‘za.

NOTE: 21-and-over only. All tappings, times and dates subject to change.

Leggo My [Grandes] Lagos - Great Lakes + Grumpy Gaucho

It's time to throw on some safety goggles and tap a pin for the first time in quite a while.

Our friends at Great Lakes Brewing Company are throwing us a cask of Commodore Perry IPA tweaked with dried apricots and chili peppers.

We'll have some of their other beers on tap as well, including the Chicagoland debut of their brand new Grandes Lagos Lager and a keg of Barrel-Aged Blackout Stout. Plus, Grumpy Gaucho will be out back baking up some empanadas.

The fun starts at 5pm, so roll in early and grab a seat at the bar to enjoy the show as we teach Katie how to tap a pin for the first time.

Special Tapping: Solemn Oath (In Collaboration With The Bruery) "Conquest"

The SOBs are coming back and we're tapping some fun stuff!

The Bière Du Jour: CONQUEST

Originally released on August 22nd of 2015, Conquest is the fourth collaboration of the "Seven Seals" series.  This Belgian-style tripel with cocoa nibs, toasted coconut, vanilla and cinnamon was brewed with Patrick Rue of The Bruery.

Alan & Jeremy just opened a bottle and found that it has aged beautifully.  Some observations: clear and clean, a beautiful sweet aroma with a little bit of Belgian yeast ester, a very well-balanced and tasteful amount of flavor from the coconut, cinnamon and vanilla, and it drinks like a beer with a  lower ABV.

We will also have Scareball Imperial Pilsner and Wreckagemaster Double IPA.

Solemn Oath is one of our favorites.  They're one of your favorites.  Toasty-freakin' Cheese will be in the house.  Stop pretending you're busy that night.

A NOTE ON PARKING:

Parking is limited at the tap room and IS NOT ALLOWED along Plank Road or at the Pingree Grove Fire District Station across the street. You will be fined and towed if you park in either location. If our lot is full, so is our tap room.

As always, we encourage carpooling, dropoffs, or taking a cab/Uber.

Cask Tapping: Crystal Lake Brewing

Our friends from the North, Crystal Lake Brewing, will be joining us on Saturday, March 19th, for a special cask tapping.

At around 6pm, we'll be tapping a cask of Crystal Lake's Wake Maker, an American IPA brewed with Cascade, Chinook and Centennial hops, and then dry-hopped with experimental hop #06277.

We'll also have the following beer on tap all day long:

  • Bourbon Barrel-Aged Boathouse Reserve Imperial Stout
  • Slalom King Rye India Pale Ale
  • Nitro Overboard Oatmeal Stout

We'll also be welcoming Mina's Mexican Home Cooking food truck for the first time at the tap room! Come hang out, meet some folks from the brewery, and chow down.

If you haven't been to one of our cask events yet, this is a great chance to support a local brewery while doing so. We always have a blast with these guys, so don't miss out.

PARKING:

Parking IS NOT ALLOWED along Plank Road or at the Pingree Grove Fire District Station across the street. You will be fined and towed if you park in either location!

If our lot is full, so is our tap room. Circle the block, run some errands or grab a bite elsewhere, then stop back by a little later. As always, we encourage carpooling and cab-taking.
