#PlankRoadTrip to Half Acre

Next Stop: Half Acre Beer Company (2X)

All aboard the fun bus as we take another #PlankRoadTrip to the city of Chicago to visit our friends at Half Acre Beer Company on Saturday, October 14th!

We'll be visiting both of the tap rooms: the brand new Balmoral Taproom and Beer Garden, and the original Lincoln taproom.

Ticket price includes:

  • Bus ride to and from the city, including both brewery locations
  • Beer on the bus and at Half Acre
  • Food (Taco Bar) at the Balmoral Brewery
  • $5 toward gratuity (feel free to throw more at the bartenders if you feel so inclined)

We will leave PROMPTLY at 11am from the empty parking lot west of Maciano's (3145 U.S.-20, Elgin IL). NOTE: Please do NOT park in the Maciano/Sammy's lot, in front of the new Beef Shack, or the Triumph Bank parking lot. Park on the west side of the lot in front of the empty businesses.

We will arrive back to our vehicles around 6pm. We'll make a pit stop on the way home as well.

REMINDER: Please drink and act responsibly. Either get dropped off, carpool with a DD, or get an Uber when we get back. We're guests at the brewery, so be courtesy and respectful of their property.

#PlankRoadTrip To Founders Brewing

On Sunday, February 12th, we're getting on a bus in the early hours and taking a #PlankRoadTrip to Founders Brewing in Grand Rapids, MI.

I've heard enough....take me to the tickets!
 

We'll be boarding a tour bus (with a restroom) at Hobby Lobby (200 S Randall Rd, Elgin, IL 60123) and leaving PROMPTLY at 7 a.m.  Please arrive by 6:45a.m. to check in and board. We'll have coffee ready for you for the early portion of the drive.  As we leave Illinois(ish), we'll start enjoying some delicious cans of Founders beer while sweeping around beautiful Lake Michigan...which we won't be able to see from the bus.

NOTE: please leave all beer at home. There will be no bottleshare before, during, or after the roadtrip.

We're looking to arrive at Founders shortly after 11 a.m.  Our gracious hosts will take us through tours of the facility in small groups while the rest of of soak in one of the coolest tap rooms in the Midwest.

We'll hang out at/tour Founders for a few hours or so before making the trip back.  Beer will be provided for the bus ride back.  Assuming all goes well, we'll get you home in plenty of time to get a decent night's sleep and make it/call in to work the next day.

Tickets are $80 and include:

*A pretty sweet, round trip bus ride with coffee and Founders beer provided.  

*3 Founders beers at their tap room. You'll receive a 3-tabbed wrist band.

*A guided tour of one of America's best breweries.

*You get to hang out with us, which is generally pretty rad.

All that you'll need to bring is funds for any food or swag that you'd like at Founders.

Tickets are non-refundable.  The bus won't allow us to be reimbursed if we cancel, so we'll just pay that rule forward.
